Portugal Chama

For you. For all

Galp once again joins "Portugal Chama" in preventing fires

"PORTUGAL CHAMA" is much more than a campaign, it is a call to action, which challenges each Portuguese to mobilise and contribute to a country protected from serious rural fires.

Galp once again supports this initiative, making its network of more than 700 petrol stations available to assist in emergency firefighting operations. In addition to priority access to fuel, firefighters and other professionals involved in the operations also have free drinks, food and rest areas available.

In this critical phase of fires in Portugal, we remind you that it is essential that we all do our part: ensure the correct cleaning of the land, avoid risky behaviour (such as burning or setting off firecrackers) and immediately contact 112 in case of fire.

For more information, consult the official website of the “ Portugal Chama" campaign.

If you are near a fire

  • Call 112 immediately
  • If you are not in danger and have suitable clothing, try to put out small fires using shovels, hoes or branches.
  • Avoid exposure to smoke. Cover your mouth and nose with a damp cloth
  • Protect yourself from the flames and heat by wearing long and dry clothing
  • Don't hinder the actions of the fire brigade, forest-firefighters and other fire and rescue services, and follow their instructions
  • Remove your vehicle from the access routes to the fire
  • If you notice the presence of people with risk behaviours, alert the authorities
  • Avoid areas close to fires
