First oil production starts at Tômbua-Lândana field in Angola - The contractor group of Block 14 in Angola, comprised by Chevron, Sonangol, Eni, Total and Galp Energia, announced today the beginning of production at the Tômbua-Lândana field.

Extended Well Test Resumed at Tupi - The Extended Well Test (EWT) on Tupi area was resumed on September 5. This area is part of block BM-S-11 located on the pre salt of Santos Basin.

Incident at Sines refinery utilities unit - On 17 January at approximately 9 pm a fire occurred at the utilities unit of the Sines refinery. The fire was brought under control by the industrial complex’s emergency response team, with no personal injuries or environmental damages.

Galp Energia and Sonae Distribuição agree the termination of the agreement for the exploration of Continente’s service stations - This agreement, which included the set of petrol stations integrated in Sonae Distribuição pursuant to the acquisition, in December 2007, of the ex-operations of Carrefour Portugal, was entered into in February of 2008 and was awaiting the decision from the Portuguese Competition Authority.
