[Soon] Every Step Counts 2026

The Galp Foundation's solidarity challenge that turns kilometres into meals will be back on September 19 to deliver one and a half million meals to families supported by the Emergency Food Network.

About the initiative

Every Step Counts is the solidarity challenge that turns movement into impact. The Galp Foundation converts every kilometre you walk, run, dance or cycle into a meal donated to the Emergency Food Network, supporting thousands of families across mainland Portugal and the islands.
Taking part is simple: get moving, record the distance and submit your proof at todosospassoscontam.galp.com, indicating the location and date of the activity.
Since 2021, Every Step Counts has been supported by Rádio Comercial and TVI. From 2025 onwards, the GNR and the Municipalities of Alcoutim, Arganil, Cascais, Loures, Matosinhos, Porto, Santiago do Cacém and Sines also joined the initiative. Across previous editions, more than 440,000 people took part, resulting in the donation of over 5.7 million meals.

For every kilometre covered through physical activity by participants in Every Step Counts, the Galp Foundation donates to ENTRAJUDA an amount equivalent to the cost of one meal, up to the target of 1.5 million meals.

ENTRAJUDA is the organisation responsible for turning this support into real impact: it ensures the delivery of meals to families supported by the Emergency Food Network, managing all logistics as well as the necessary human and material resources.

Taking part is simple, quick, and open to everyone:

  1. From September 19 to November 22 2026, walk, run, dance, cycle, or do any other physical activity. Every kilometre counts as one meal.
  2. Record the distance you cover. You can use an app already installed on your phone or popular free options such as Adidas Running, Apple Health, Google Fit, Nike Run Club, Samsung Health, or Strava. You can also take a photo of a pedometer or smartwatch display (Fitbit, Garmin, etc.).
  3. Submit your proof at todosospassoscontam.galp.com, indicating the location and date of the activity.

Yes. Just convert your steps into kilometres using the following approximate ratio: 1 km = 1,400 steps.

You can combine kilometres from multiple days - even those prior to submitting the form - and record them in a single submission. Just indicate the start and end dates and attach a screenshot or photo that proves the total distance covered.

No. Participation is limited to Portugal, except for employees of Galp Group companies in Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Spain, Eswatini, and Mozambique. The form requires you to indicate the district and municipality in Portugal where the distance was covered, except in these cases.

To have your organisation become an Every Step Counts ambassador, send an email to todosospassoscontam@galp.com to express your interest. You will then receive a Toolkit with communication materials.

To register a group participation, simply select the 'Team Participation' option on the form. Then indicate the number of participants covered by the submission and attach proof of the total distance covered.

If, after reading the Terms and Conditions, you still have any questions, please send an email to todosospassoscontam@galp.com.
