Galp Energia and Sonae Distribuição agree the termination of the agreement for the exploration of Continente’s service stations

This agreement, which included the set of petrol stations integrated in Sonae Distribuição pursuant to the acquisition, in December 2007, of the ex-operations of Carrefour Portugal, was entered into in February of 2008 and was awaiting the decision from the Portuguese Competition Authority.

Galp Energia hereby informs that, on the present date, it agreed with Sonae Distribuição the termination of the agreement for the transfer of the operation of eight petrol stations located next to Continente Hypermarkets.

This agreement, which included the set of petrol stations integrated in Sonae Distribuição pursuant to the acquisition, in December 2007, of the ex-operations of Carrefour Portugal, was entered into in February of 2008 and was awaiting the decision from the Portuguese Competition Authority.

Notwithstanding their mutual decision to terminate said agreement, both Groups are committed to proceed with their fruitful partnership, so as to continue presenting their respective clients joint, innovative and value-added proposals, such as those which, in the past, have benefited from widespread adherence and support.

This partnership, which is already present in the existing joint operation of more than 100 convenience stores of the Galp Energia network (under the brands Tangerina and M24), as well as the cross-promotion campaign “5+5” (that allows common customers of both Groups to benefit from a discount offer which is the most advantageous available in the Portuguese market), could be equally carried out with new solutions for the petrol filling stations currently operated by Sonae Distribuição.
