GRI table

Galp uses the GRI benchmark, which ensures that its monitoring and reporting follow key international standards.

Our first integrated corporate report, the 2016 Annual Report and Accounts, was based on internationally acknowledged guidelines and standards, in particular, the guidelines on the integrated report of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), and the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), GRI G4 version, in the “In accordance – Comprehensive” option, including the Oil & Gas sector supplement, among others.

Global Reporting Initiative

The Global Reporting Initiative is an international non-profit organisation that promotes sustainability reporting according to a set of guidelines. This initiative aims to contribute to a sustainable development and make business performance increasingly effective in that regard.

The guidelines systematised in the GRI Table serve as the basis for publications that address innovative topics on sustainability, transparency and accountability. This leads to reports based on these same guidelines exploring the economic, environmental and social impacts of the activities carried out by the Organisation.

The growing use of the GRI benchmark for sustainability reporting by companies from different sectors and countries creates a reporting pattern. It facilitates communication by using common methods and metrics in measuring the extent of impacts and sustainability performance.
