Galp Energia in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Galp Energia was included for the third consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World and the DJSI Europe which recognise its leading position as a company committed to sustainable practices. These results reflect Galp Energia’s commitment to promote sustainable growth in the execution of its strategy, particularly in what regards the environmental, social and economic dimensions.

Galp Energia was included for the third consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World and the DJSI Europe which recognise its leading position as a company committed to sustainable practices. These results reflect Galp Energia’s commitment to promote sustainable growth in the execution of its strategy, particularly in what regards the environmental, social and economic dimensions.

Galp Energia was once again selected as part of a restrict group of six companies to be included in the DJSI Europe, from a universe of 17 companies within the Oil & Gas Producers sector. Regarding the companies from the Oil & Gas Producers sector which were included in the DJSI World, Galp Energia remained as one of the 14 selected companies, within a universe of 110. The Company scored a total of 77 points, compared to the average of the Oil & Gas Producers sector of 49 points.

Thus, in 2014, Galp Energia continues to be part of the group of companies that are recognized for its sustainable practices, both in Europe and in the World.

The DJSI was established in 1999, and was the first indicator of the financial performance of the world’s leading companies in terms of sustainability. The members of this index are classified as the companies which are more capable to create value for their shareholders in the long term, through an effective management of the risks associated to the economic, environmental and social dimensions.
