New Pluma - Carbon Offsets

Carbon emissions offsetting allows companies and citizens to reduce to zero or offset the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions of a given activity by removing the same amount of emissions, by natural or technological processes.

The new Pluma bottle is as light as ever, but smarter and more sustainable: gas emissions are offset by investing in 3 projects to reduce or capture CO2 emissions (Mozambique, Brazil, and Thailand).

Safe Water Project | Mozambique
 

Project name: Safe Water

Contribution to SDGs: 3, 5, 6 and 13

Certification: Gold Standard 

Description:

The project rehabilitates, installs and maintains boreholes to ensure communities have safe access to water, as well as building local capacity to ensure water points are managed in the future. The project will support the provision of safe water to hundreds of households in Manica, Sofala and Tete provinces. 

By providing safe water, the project will ensure that households consume less firewood during the water purification process and, as a result, there will be a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from the combustion process.

VTRM Wind Brazil 2 | Brazil
 

Project name: VTRM Wind Brazil 2

Certification: Verra - Verified Carbon Standard 

Description:

This is a bundled wind project in Brazil consisting of 7 wind power plants (Ventos do Piauí complex). By supplying renewable energy to the Brazilian National Interconnected System, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by decreasing reliance on fossil fuel generated power.

The project estimates a total emissions reduction of 439,950 tCO₂e per year and a total emissions reduction of 4,399,508 tCO2 for the crediting period.

Krissana Wind Project | Thailand
 

Project name: Krissana Wind Project

Certification: Verra - Verified Carbon Standard 

Description:

The objective of the project activity is to generate clean electricity by harnessing wind energy. The project consists of 30 wind turbine generators of 3.0 MW capacity each that are installed in Thailand's Nakhonratchasima province. The electricity generated is exported to the country's national grid. 

The project estimates a total emissions reduction of 143,153 tCO₂e per year.
