Mundo Galp (Spain) | Carbon Offsets

Through the Mundo Galp loyalty programme, Galp in Spain offers users the option to offset CO2 by collaborating in two sustainable projects: one related to an environmental reforestation project in Galicia and the other, focused on renewable generation, in Brazil.

Description:

The Comunidad de Montes Vecinales at Mano Común de Laza, Cimadevilla y Souteliño (CMVMC of Laza) has 2,451 hectares, 82% of which is forest.

Of the 2,800 CMVMCs in Galicia, Laza CMVMC is the one with the largest wooded area and the seventh largest in terms of total area. The entire forest area has been managed for almost two decades and is currently certified under the PEFC and FSC sustainability systems.

VTRM Renewable Energy 2 | Brazil

 

Project name: VTRM Renewable Energy 2

Description:

VTRM Renewable Energy 2 is a nested project consisting of the implementation and operation of wind power plants in Brazil.

It aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by avoiding power generation from fossil fuel sources. The supply of clean, renewable energy will contribute significantly to environmental sustainability by reducing GHG emissions that would occur in the absence of this project. All the wind power plants will supply clean energy to the National Interconnected System (SIN) of Brazil.
