Galp was once again recognised as an industry leader for its sustainability policies and practices, having been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) 2019, and achieving the best result ever. The Company obtained a global score of 82 points, against 76 in the previous year, whilst remaining in the 96th percentile.
Within the Oil & Gas Upstream & Integrated sector, Galp ranked first in the DJSI Europe. In the DJSI World, the Company ranked third and remained part of the restricted group of eight companies in the sector, out of 52 assessed.
Galp is the leader of the sector under the environmental dimension, which includes areas such as “Climate strategy” where it stands out, having obtained the highest score in the "Water Related Risks" criteria. Under this dimension, Galp obtained more than double the points of the sector’s average, clearly differentiating itself amongst peers. Under the economical and social dimensions, Galp was leader in the “Risk & Crisis Management” criteria, as well as in the “Human Capital Development” and “Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy” criterion, respectively.
This recognition reflects the commitment of the Company to create shared value to all its stakeholders, implementing best practices across the environmental, social and corporate governance dimensions.
