GreenH2Bahia project recognized at Energy Summit Awards 2025
The GreenH2Bahia project - developed by Galp in partnership with SENAI CIMATEC and Hytron - was distinguished at the 2025 Energy Summit Awards in the Corporate Research category, underscoring the strategic relevance of applied R&D collaborations that turn energy-transition ambition into deployable infrastructure.
At its core, the project is building and validating end-to-end capabilities for green hydrogen production, storage, and real-use applications, focusing on sectors where decarbonization is hardest and impact is most material - namely mobility and industrial uses. This applied focus strengthens not only the technical maturity of solutions, but also the ecosystem required to scale them: partners, supply chain, regulation, and operational know-how.
From an execution standpoint, the initiative has been progressing toward an operational milestone expected around August 2025, aligning research objectives with a real pilot environment and equipment ramp-up. The result is a practical platform for testing technologies and accelerating learning curves - exactly the kind of “lab-to-field” pathway that reduces risk and shortens time-to-scale for green hydrogen in Brazil.
