Biomethane go-to-market capstone recognized by Porto Business School
As part of its applied learning model, Porto Business School showcased a Global Online MBA capstone project developed with Galp focused on the biomethane business and an actionable go-to-market strategy. The work explored how biomethane can become a scalable, economically viable pathway within the energy transition - linking market dynamics, infrastructure realities, and sustainability value creation.
A key strength of the project was its phased approach: identifying near-term opportunities (“quick wins”) leveraging current infrastructure and capabilities, while designing a growth trajectory toward increased impact through own production and longer-term scaling options. This structure reflects a pragmatic innovation logic - balancing feasibility, speed, and strategic optionality.
The collaboration also reinforces the purpose of the Global Online MBA’s challenge-based format: bringing executives and students into real company contexts where strategic frameworks must withstand operational constraints. It’s a strong example of how academic partnerships can generate usable insights while developing future-ready talent.
