EavyCharging - Fast & Smart Charging Pilot
The EavyCharging pilot focuses on enhancing electric mobility infrastructure through a smarter approach to fast charging. The solution enables a single fast charger to be dynamically shared between multiple electric vehicles. Once one vehicle completes its charging session, another can begin charging within seconds - even if the previous vehicle has not yet been physically disconnected or moved.
This model optimizes charger utilization, reduces waiting times, and improves overall user experience while maximizing infrastructure efficiency. By increasing asset productivity without requiring additional grid capacity, the system contributes to a more scalable and cost-effective charging network.
Developed in partnership with Matosinhos City Council, the pilot evaluates operational performance, technical integration, and user interaction under real conditions. The objective is to validate a model that supports faster EV adoption while improving energy efficiency and infrastructure flexibility.
