Galp ensures maximum rigour when filling and calibrating domestic gas bottles | Galp Moçambique

Having become aware of anonymous messages that have been circulated on social networks regarding the actual quantity of product contained in each domestic gas bottle, Galp hereby ensures that its bottle filling process is conducted with the utmost rigour and subject to adequate control, not only internal but also external.

Galp has been present in Mozambique for over 60 years, during which time it has always strived for a serious stance, quality of service, and contribution to the country's development through its investment, job creation and support for economic activity and the well-being of Mozambican families. These attributes are our way of being in all the countries in which we are present.

Supervision initiatives by independent entities are essential for the transparency of any market, and are strongly encouraged by Galp in all areas in which it operates. However, in order to be credible, these actions must themselves comply with the legally established rules and criteria and use appropriate methodologies in order to ensure the total rigour and objectivity of the evaluations, without any doubt.

Galp was surprised this morning by inspections carried out at some of its points of sale, which were far from meeting the required minimum criteria, not least because they did not take into account the fact that the bottles, even within the same type, have different empty weights (tares), which immediately disqualifies its conclusions and raises legitimate doubts about the purpose of these actions. Also contrary to what is customary, the place where all the bottles are filled was not included in this inspection action.

In addition to the National Institute for Standardization and Quality-IP (INNOC), responsible for the inspections carried out this morning, preceded by a prior call from some media, Galp's operations are regularly subject to surveillance actions by several other entities, such as the DNHC, ARENE or INAE, which attest to the serious and rigorous manner in which we position ourselves in the market, as in any other in which we operate.

For this reason, Galp cannot fail to categorically refute this type of slanderous messages, without any basis or adherence to reality, which, under cover of anonymity, seek to sow confusion and mistrust in the service of objectives that are unknown to us.
