Galp Foundation helps children from Nampula defend themselves against COVID-19 | Galp Moçambique

The Galp Foundation and Helpo celebrated African Children's Day with the Natôa Community, Nampula Province, with the donation of 273 kits consisting of masks, hygiene products and information materials to the children at the local Secondary School.

With classes suspended due to the declaration of a State of Emergency in all schools in the country, the Galp Foundation and Helpo took advantage of the students' trips to school during periods of collection or delivery of homework to raise the children’s awareness about healthcare related to prevention of COVID-19.

Each kit consists of two masks and soap, products that are very difficult to access in the most remote communities of the Province of Nampula. The students also received an information leaflet on COVID-19 prevention measures. The kits will be distributed over several days and in a sequential manner, in accordance with the restrictions and recommendations in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

The activities of the Galp Foundation and Helpo in the northern region of Mozambique, namely in the provinces of Nampula and Cabo Delgado, have been particularly dynamic in the areas of education and health, through the Educate for the Future project, which directly benefits around 3,000 students through the award of merit scholarships, distribution of manuals and food support.
