The five offshore projects already sanctioned include block 14 and 14K, currently in the production phase with two compliant piled tower (CPT) platforms and the projects still in the exploration/development phase in block 32.
Block 14 currently has three fields in production:
The production license was awarded in 1995 and the block is in production since December 1999.
Block 14 consists of eight areas of development:
The first three areas of development correspond to the fields currently in production.
In 2016, by decision of the consortium and with the objective of reducing costs, the drilling activities and the rigs were demobilized. Currently, the fields are in a phase of natural decline of production.
Block 14K-A-IMI is located on the border between Angola and the Republic of Congo.
The Lianzi field, in production since 2015, is situated in this block, with a 43 km electrically heated tie-back connection to the CPT platform of the BBLT field.
11 discoveries were made in Block 32 since the beginning of the concession.
Its geographic dispersion requires determining a technical concept of development that allows to aggregate several discoveries.
The block consists of two major projects in different phases, Kaombo and Central North East (CNE).
The Kaombo project is an ultra-deep water project aimed at developing six fields connected via 300 km of pipelines, with two FPSO units allocated: Kaombo Norte and Kaombo Sul.
Each one of these units has a nominal processing capacity of 125 kbpd. The first oil of the FPSO to develop the Kaombo Norte was on July 2018, while the unit allocated to Kaombo Sul started production in April 2019.
The CNE project is in its exploration phase and four discoveries have already been confirmed.
In 2016, the concessionary accepted the request to extend the exploration and appraisal period of the CNE area in block 32 until 2017. Studies are being developed with the purpose of identifying and selecting prospects for drilling.
